Bio

Merianne Tomovich was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and as far back as she can remember, was most content when given a pencil and a piece of paper on which to draw. Her high school art teacher inspired her to become an artist and an art educator. At the University of Minnesota, where she earned a Bachelor degree in Art Education, her charcoal figure drawings and black and white photographs were exhibited in student shows. She continued to study photography and ceramics in Tampa and St. Petersburg Florida, where she received a Masters degree in Elementary Education from Nova Southeastern University.

For eighteen years, she taught art in grades K-12, encouraging her students to celebrate their uniqueness through artistic expression. Her photography was exhibited at the Tampa Museum of Art and also recognized in the national publication of College Photography. Currently, Merianne is back in the ceramic studio, combining two and three- dimensional explorations, via the potter’s wheel. Be inspired as you observe her journey through a variety of mediums!
